Mahito, a 12-year-old boy, struggles to settle in a new town after his mother’s death. When a talking heron tells Mahito that his mother is still alive, he enters an abandoned tower in search of her, which leads him to another world.

The Boy and the Heron is the culmination of Hayao Miyazaki’s career, who brought us films such as Princess Mononoke and Spirited Away.
